This story is based on a traditional Russian folk tale and I really enjoyed researching Russian life. Decoration is so important. It's everywhere, on clothes, on furniture, even on the window shutters of houses. Colour and life is important in a cold white world. Baboushka's character was fun to illustrate too. I liked her cheerfulness and stoic determination to follow the mysterious three kings and take her presents to Bethlehem. |
